Ask a Doctor about bad breath Specialist in chennai

I suffer from bad breath. Really bad breath. I’ve read about all of the issues and supposed cures, but nothing works. I can remember when I was about 11 or 12 years old, being dropped off at school, my Dad asking me if I had brushed my teeth that morning, and him pulling a face like he’d had a nasty smell. That was odd, I thought, as I always brushed my teeth, morning and night, and I always have.

My mouth is well looked after. Brush and floss twice a day. Regular dental check-ups, scrape and polish etc, only ever had 2 fillings.

I’ve always been hyper-sensetive to people’s reactions to me at work or in the pub, they put their hands over their face when I speak to them, they sit further away, I see their noses twitch etc. As a consequence I have grown up keeping quiet, with no friends, lost partners (from the few that I have had) and generally being on my own.

I have been to my GP. He referred me to an ENT specialist, who listened to my plight and did loads of tests, including all of the classic tests, like looking up my nose and in my throat with a probe, smelling my breath (he said there was no problem – but he asked 2 assistants to smell and they nearly fainted when they had a whiff) – his diagnosis was that I had to basically put up with it!

I scrape my tongue every day, sometimes more than once, there always seems to be gunk on it. It doesn’t smell (to me) but I look at other peoples tongues and they look a nice ‘wet and pink’ colour. Mine is dry and furry.

My diet is near perfect. I am perfect weight for my height, I go to the gym 5 days a week, walk to walk, I’m in perfect health. I do not smoke (I never have), I only drink the very odd glass of wine (don’t really like alcohol).

The situation has made me question the value of my life, what is the point of an existance that means I will be unable to interact with people? I do have suicidal thoughts often, and I do feel like I have one final chance to try and fix it, before I end up killing myself. I know that sounds drastic, but it is truly how I feel. This affliction is a blight on my life. I do not have a life, and the results of dealing with this issue with the medical profession has made me think that I may just be unable to ever have a life.

Please – if there any advice that anyone can offer? I can’t cope with this situation any longer.
