How to Prevent Bad Breath in Children Quickly and Permanently
It is a fact that bad breath in children is much worse than most of the adults because children eat or take anything whatever they like even though the things they eat may cause mouth problems. As an adult, you have the responsibility to take care of the food your children may eat every single day.
If you want take the bad breath in children, what you can do is giving them advice on the importance of taking care of their mouth and teeth as well. Children are very innocence and they usually do not know what is best for them. It is up to you as an adult to guide them the correct way of oral hygiene.
For example, most children are very lazy to brush their teeth every morning and before they go to sleep at night. You must make sure they brush their teeth in front of you and do not just take their word as they maybe lying to you. If you keep this up, soon it will become a normal routine for your children to brush their teeth and you don’t have to look at them anymore.
Children love to eat chocolates and candies in very high amount every day. This is not good as they tend to get gums problem in the future. Once the gums problem started, bacteria will also start to spread inside the mouth and causing more pain. This will only lead to more bad breath in children.
If you can, ask them to eat some chewing gum with less sugar instead. Not only it will reduce the tendency to get gums problem but it is some sort of mouth exercise as well.
There are several causes of bad breath in children, one of the cause is due to poor dentition. Sometimes when eating, there will be some trapped food particles at the corner of the teeth. If the food remain there for a long time, it will cause bacteria to grow. This bacteria slowly damaging the teeth and gums at the same time.
When mouth becomes dry because the water intake is low can also create bad breath in children. Saliva is the one that wash away any bacteria that contains inside the mouth but if the mouth is dry, the saliva cannot perform its role effectively.
Children with high fever usually have a dry mouth as well because of the medications they need to take. You must make sure to give them a lot of water to drink to soften the tongue.
As mentioned earlier, you have an important role to take if you do not want bad breath in children to happen. Children do not only need your love but also your attention in taking care of their oral hygiene as well.
