Kids Bad Breath

As a parent is can sometimes be overwhelming to see our kids grow up. And for being the good parents that we are, we always want to best for our children. We want them to have strong healthy bones, bright eyes, and an even brighter smile. With that said I sure you agree that we don’t want our kids bad breath to be the only downfall.

While it is normal for kids to have bad breath on occasion there are ways of fighting it. But first lets look at some causes:

1. Sleeping. During sleep saliva production is at a minimal, so the more sleep means less saliva production and more unpleasant breath.

2. Breathing through the mouth. Doing this causes their mouths to become dry and causes bacteria to grow causing bad breath.

3. Baby things. Sucking on thumbs and other things can also cause their mouths to become dry.

Now that we know some causes of your kids bad breath, what are some things we can do to prevent this misfortune.

1. Rinsing their mouths out after they eat, mouthwash is recommended.

2. Drinking plenty of water.

3. Cleaning their tongues properly.

4. Properly brushing their teeth and flossing.

Teaching your child to brush properly is the first step you can do to impact your toddler. This will help them realize the importance of good oral hygiene from an early age and it will stick with them the rest of their lives. Also try to keep your kids away from foods that have strong odors and high amounts of sugar.
